Kindness of Belgian Friend

I felt saddened after reading about the terrorist attacks in Brussels. So many lives were ended and it all was senseless and so sad! Now their families are grieving and perhaps trying to understand why innocent lives are taken so suddenly and violently.

I also thought about a kind Belgian au pair who had helped me try to find a teaching job many years ago. Saskia patiently taught me about creating lesson plans as I prepared for an interview at a prestigious private high school near Boston. There is so much kindness in the world and I try to never forget this especially at sad moments.
