Frozen Fenway

I'm hoping for smooth ice for the hockey matches at Fenway. What a bodacious idea to install a rink in center field. That's thinking outside the box! In less than 40 days we'll be seeing the Eagles fly under the (hopefully) clear sky by Lansdowne St. It will be a memorable experience for the players and the fans.

My neighborhood was a branch of hockey heaven. Our real lives took place at the skating rink (as if we were in Canada). Of course we went to church and to school, but the skating rink was the place to be! I also treasure the time spent in the locker room with coaches and teammates. I feel happy when I see my old coaches. And I feel grateful to be alive when I reflect on the number of my teammates who have passed away. Maybe I feel guilty too that I have outlived them.
