Nutcracker in Dorchester

It wasn't until the tender age of forty five that I went to a performance of "The Nutcracker". It was perhaps only because the performance was in Dorchester that I went. The dancing was fantastic! What helped me enjoy it was that I had learned a few things about how much hard work goes into learning to be a ballet dancer. The thrill for a young dancer to get her first pair of real "en pointe" shoes seems to me like the thrill I got when I got my first pair of CCM skates!

Being at the Strand Theatre also gave me memories of the late Mayor of Boston, Tom Menino. The Strand is looking good these days and he helped make it happen. Happy to see the Strand lookin good!
