I heard a man in South Boston talk about how he had to always have perfectly spotless white shoes on. I can relate to this. My shoes were white bucks and they also had to be pristine. I never knew that I was obsessed with this "perfectly white shoe thing" because my insides were feeling so much distress. And I was always feeling bad about myself because I was comparing my insides to other people's outsides.
