Marathon Mind Tricks

I'm proud 2 say I have run a marathon. It was a difficult challenge! It was easy to talk myself out of doing it (after seeing some gory pictures of what a marathon can do to a foot), but a friend got me back on track (pun intended) by telling me it would be "fun". It was definitely fun (even though the days after were tough!)!

One experienced marathoner advised me to break up the 26.2 mile race into small pieces. A marathon is more than 40 kilometers so I could imagine it was a couple of 10k races followed by a few five milers. The roar of the crowds, perfect weather and a second wind pushed me to the finish line!  

Hope to run another one with my marathoning cousins some day!
